Hiking Bare Mountain

In the last few years, several members have made great strides in mapping and building a new trail system to take advantage of our 130 acres of mostly hillside terrain. We now have over 5 miles of developed trails with spectacular mountain and lake views with another 2 miles in the planning stage. If you love to hike nude in nature and appreciate not having to worry about who might be around the next corner, you will love hiking Bare Mountain. Pick up a map and a pair of hiking poles at the clubhouse and strike out on an adventure. And remember that the summit is at nearly 5000 ft with over an 800 ft elevation gain so take it slow and bring some water.

The easiest route is out the Jeep Trail, cut l eft to the Lake View Trail, continue on to the Monkey Rock Trail and then back down Black Diamond. For an aerobic workout reverse the route – go straight up Black Diamond Trail, take the Monkey Rock traverse to the Peak Streak and the summit and then back down choosing either the Lake View trail or the Jeep Road back to civilization.
